Based in San Francisco, Brass Over Bridges is a brass quintet that understands that music is all about connection. Inspired by the cultural diversity of the San Francisco Bay Area, we seek to engage audiences with music bridging barriers of style and artistic discipline.
In addition to performing concerts, Brass Over Bridges is passionate about supporting school music programs through outreach performances designed to educate and inspire young musicians.

Brass Over Bridges believes that the contemporary brass quintet genre has extraordinary space for creativity, invention and reinvention. As an ensemble, we are committed to both the high standards of the brass tradition and the forging of new paths within the music. Through commissions and projects that bridge cultural and artistic boundaries, Brass Over Bridges seeks to make music that creates connection and relevance for both listeners and performers.
Our mission…
The name Brass Over Bridges is both a reference to our home in the San Francisco Bay Area and a metaphor for the types of projects that we undertake. Our ensemble is committed to building bridges with our audiences and within our community. Through a robust series of educational performances, provided at no cost to schools we seek to bridge the gap and provide arts support and inspiration to students who otherwise might not receive programing of this type. These programs are supported through the generosity of private donors and grants.
